
Founder and Director:

Mr. Francisco (Paco) Huerta, founder and instructor of the Ballet Folklórico Azteca, has an extensive history with Mexican folk dance styles. A third generation dancer in his family, Mr. Huerta began his dance career in his Mexican home state of Puebla and has continued as a dancer and teacher in other states of Veracruz and Oaxaca. With more than 30 years of professional dance experience in Mexico and here in the United States, Mr. Huerta created the Ballet Folklórico Azteca Florida 11 years ago with a commitment to preserve, support and promote the rich traditions of Mexico. Through traditional dance and folkloric dance, Ballet Folklórico Azteca seeks to deepen the connection of the local Mexican American and Mesoamerican community with its cultural identity while creating a vehicle for intercultural exchange and appreciation with the diverse communities of South Florida. Therefore, Ballet Folklórico Azteca is proud to participate in cultural, social and artistic events throughout Florida in collaboration with a multitude of multicultural organizations.
Mr. Francisco (Paco) Huerta created 5 years ago Mesoamericana Foundation of Art and Folklore In order to Promote Artistic Workshops and Multicultural Events promoting the richness of their Dances and folklore of the different cultures that reside in South Florida, amongst youth and adults.
